An Application Certificate (ATB) is a document, issued by a third party, for construction products, materials, type structures or construction methods, that can be requested voluntarily, and that specifies the relevant values of product characteristics for national use, and the technical conditions for application, subject to the Hungarian regulation and technical provisions.
Product specifications and product characteristic values indicated in the document accompanying the CE marking can sometimes be incomplete, and might not provide sufficient information on satisfying the requirements for design and installation in domestic relation. An example might be a metal faced sandwich panel, where fire resistance performance for the wall and roof structures are not determined, however, the National Fire Protection Code stipulates fire resistance limit requirements for these structures. The Application Certificate can resolve this gap by providing the necessary parameters and application conditions, thus confirming compliance with the national requirements.
An Application Certificate may be applied for not only construction products, but also for type structures that are not considered to be construction products, for materials, and potentially for construction methods also.
The Application Certificate does not replace the documents necessary for the placing of construction products on the market (for example supplier's declaration of performance, certificate of constancy of performance), required by Government Decree 275/2013. (VII.16.) as mandatory.
Issuing an Application Certificate is initiated by filling out the attached "Application to issue an Application Certificate (ATB)” form.
